Task 1
As the beginning in Design, we were asked to find 5 good designs and 5 not good designs in the campus of IIT Guwahati. And select one of them and document it. It is shown below.
Also, we were also allowed to draw a software sketch of any of the photographs. And hence I drew a sketch in illustrator as shown below.

Task 2
We were asked to our own photograph and make our own faces using some words which were said by our batch mates for us. Same is shown-

Task 3
We were asked to use our imagination and make any element of design( dot, line, plane, volume) come out of a photo and interact with its surroundings( imaginative ). So made this-
The line in
the image moves from its position and comes out of the picture in the form of a
RIBBON. And the activity that the ribbon is doing is mainly WRAPING around
objects and symbolizing Unity and it also adds to the beauty of the object. The
surrounding environment is of a birthday party. The ribbon interacts with the
various elements of the party. First the
ribbon goes and interacts with the flowers. It goes and wraps around a bunch of
flowers. And the bunch of flowers looks more beautiful. Then it wraps around
the birthday gift, the cake packing, the Champaign bottle, the knife adding all
to their beauty, royalty and showing unity. Then it takes the form of a bow
showcasing royalty. It wraps around the ball playing with it. Then it forms a
symbol of awareness and after all this it returns back to the picture to form a
line. Overall the ribbon interacts with the environment enhancing its beauty
and making the scene more beautiful.

We were taught about the Additive color theory (i.e. using Red, Green, Blue) also called as the RGB Theory. Additive colors are those colors which are formed by the addition of different colors. The primary colors here are Red, Green and Blue. And all other colors are formed by the addition of these colors. Additive colors are those colors which are emitted directly from a light emitting object. eg- light from monitors, tube lights etc.
Also there is Subtractive color theory( i.e. using cyan, magenta, yellow, krypton black) also called as CMYK Thoery. In this theory, the colors are formed by the subtraction of its primary colors. Here the primary colors are cyan, magenta, yellow, krypton black. Subtractive colors are those colors which reach our eyes after falling from a surface and not directly. eg- light from a poster, a wall, a table etc.
We also learnt about the basic qualities of the colors like the HUE, SATURATION, VALUE AND INTENSITY of colors.
We also learnt about the WARM and the COOL colors.

Task 4
We learnt about the ATTRIBUTES of the VISUAL ELEMENTS for an understanding of the VISUAL PRINCIPLES OF COMPOSITION- BALANCE, RHYTHM, CONTRAST, HARMONY, ORDER and CHAOS.And in order to understand these, we were asked to find these in and around our surroundings and can be anything. Like these-

We were asked to make a poster on the theme- 'Celebrating Design'. And hence this was made by me-

We had to make a composition using the elements of design( dot, line, plane volume) on the theme VISUAL REPRESENTATION to emphasize on-
1) Visual Attributes (Balance, Order, Chaos, Rhythm, Contrast and Harmony)
2) Fundamental principles of color, color theory ( Hue, Saturation, Value, Intensity).
And so I came up with this composition-

b) Theme- 'Transitions in between the Line'
c) Theme- 'No Smoking'
