I was a designer of the first version of Alcheringa Android App, named as- 'Alcheringa 13'. Reference- http://www.alcheringa.in/#android
The app was made for the purpose that a person coming to the fest can see that where are the venues, what are the events going on, their timings, and what the event is about. Also he could know the schedule of the three days. Also in the map we had the facility of locating the user using the GPS.
In the designing of the app we started from the scratch. I made the map and then designed different icons used on the map like the icon showing the position of the person on the map, the icons showing the different venues, the image for the box etc. Also decided the fonts, mainly used font is Roboto.
Apart from that designed the landing page, the home page, the instructions and schedule page, the content to be shown in both the pages. Also decided the buttons to be used, and what they will look normally and at the time of pressing them.
I referred many apps before designing this app. And the main motive was to keep the app interface clean and beautiful. Here are the screenshots of the various screens of the app-
